Start with the type you need
- Fitness bands: the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 NFC and Smart Band 10 Pro are built around long battery life and 5ATM water resistance. The 10 Pro is thinner and adds standalone GNSS, so it leans toward sport. The Fitbit Charge 6 runs up to 7 days and suits people in Google's health ecosystem who want heart-rate sync with gym equipment.
- Smartwatches: the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 require an iPhone. The Series 12 is rated up to 24 hours in normal use. The Ultra 4 has a titanium case and 100-meter water resistance for runners, trail runners and divers. The Google Pixel Watch 5 needs an Android phone.
- Smart glasses: the Rokid Glasses display model (49 g) puts translation, AI answers and directions in your view. The Xiaomi AI Glasses (40 g without lenses) have no display and focus on photos, 2K video and the Xiao AI voice assistant.
- Smart ring: the Oura Ring 4 is a titanium ring for tracking sleep, heart rate and stress without daily charging. Insights need a paid membership.
China model vs US model
- Fitbit Charge 6 and Pixel Watch 5: no official sale in China, and no official China warranty or service channel.
- Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4: the US pages list Siri powered by Apple Intelligence; in China, the Apple Intelligence rollout depends on regulatory approval. Warranty is Apple's one-year limited warranty in both.
- Fitbit Charge 6: ECG and irregular rhythm notifications are limited to select countries, and SpO2 and skin temperature may not be available everywhere.
- Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro and Xiaomi AI Glasses: the card specs are for the China models.
- Rokid Glasses: specs come from Rokid's global store; confirm AI service support in your region with the seller.
Common pitfalls
- Subscriptions: Fitbit Premium analytics, Google Health Premium coaching on the Pixel Watch 5, Oura Membership and full Rokid navigation all cost extra.
- Wellness, not diagnosis: blood pressure trends and insulin resistance tracking on the Pixel Watch 5 are wellness metrics.
- iPhone gaps: some Smart Band 10 sleep research features do not support iOS, and some Smart Band 10 Pro features are Android-only or limited to certain Xiaomi phones.
- Water limits: neither Xiaomi band is meant for hot showers, saunas or hot springs, and leather, woven, silk or metal straps should stay out of the pool.
- Accessories: Xiaomi bands need the official charging cable, and some straps and the desk dock are sold separately. Rokid prescription lenses need a separately sold magnetic frame.
- Xiaomi AI Glasses: camera features work only with phones on Xiaomi's list, some features need a system update and the Xiaomi Glasses app, and the rating is IP54 with an operating range of 5°C to 35°C. Try them on in a store first.
- The Pixel Watch 5 card covers the 41mm Wi-Fi model with no LTE, so keep your phone nearby for calls and notifications.
- Oura Ring 4: Oura is promoting a newer ring it says is 40% smaller. Sizing differs by generation, so use the Ring 4 sizing kit.
