Where data lives

The site runs on Cloudflare’s global network with its database in the Asia-Pacific region, so your data is stored outside mainland China.

What we collect

Account: we share accounts with HIMIAO News (the account center is himiao.ai). When you sign in here we keep only your account number and display name, to remember your watchlist; your email and other account details stay with the account center.

Watchlist and alerts: products you watch, your target prices, which alerts you want (price, new model, sales) and whether email or push is on. Signing up and subscribing to alerts are separate choices.

What you post: discussion comments, likes and reports; “Wrong price?” reports (reason and the price you saw), stored with a one-way hash of your IP address for abuse prevention only.

Anonymous stats: pages viewed, approximate country, mobile or not, which store “Buy” you clicked and what you searched for (the words only, not who). Visits are told apart by a random ID in your browser; IP addresses are not stored.

Ask the cat: your question goes to an AI service we run ourselves; if you report an answer, that exchange is saved so we can improve.

How we use it

To sign you in and keep your watchlist; send the alerts you chose; re-check prices; see what’s useful; and stop spam and abuse. We never sell data, run no third-party ads or analytics, and load nothing from Google.

Who we share with

Only the providers that run the site, and only what they need: Cloudflare (hosting, database), Resend (alert emails) and your browser’s or phone’s push service. Once you click “Buy” and leave, the store and any affiliate network handle data under their own policies. We may disclose information when the law requires it.

Your choices

Unwatch products and turn alerts off at any time; every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect within 10 business days. You can download or delete everything we hold about you yourself under “Me → Settings” (deleting asks for your password); to close your account or for help, email himiaocc@gmail.com and we’ll act within 30 days.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential cookies and no third-party cookies: hp_s (sign-in, 90 days), hp_in (a “signed in before” flag with no identity in it), hp_lang (your language, 1 year), hp_dev (a random device ID used only for our own visit counts and abuse limits, about 400 days) and hp_nt (keeps the owner’s own devices out of the stats).

Browser local storage (never uploaded): your history of viewed cards, recent searches, and your grid/list view choice. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

Retention

Account-related data is kept until you delete it; anonymous stats are kept for up to 400 days. The one-way IP hash on “Wrong price?” reports is salted per day, so it can’t be matched to the same IP the next day.

Children

The site is for readers 13 and older; we don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13.
